Stewart Gardiner’s recent Sunday afternoon session of outsider sounds, Balearic beats and weirdo anthems at Rough Trade’s Bristol outpost

Concrete Islands might exist somewhere within an imagined Bermuda-like Triangle between London, Glasgow and Bristol, but unlike the other two cities, I’d never DJed in Bristol before. A Rough Trade staff member asked about Psyche’s cover version of “Goodbye Horses” when I played it and we had a chat about Q. Lazzarus’s original. I was sad to hear a few days later that she had passed into the night. Rest in power.
